Hi Spectrum Music Families!
As we close out September, I want to thank everyone for making our Uniform Fitting night such a success. Shoes have been ordered and will be handed out in the middle of October. HEAPS of thanks to Christine, Tarrie, Alison and Cindy for making themselves available to help with the evening every night. I would be completely lost without your help! All of our ensembles are running at full blast, Concert Bands, Jazz Bands and Choir... we are so looking forward to showcasing their hard work. It has been a pleasure to work with new and returning students. A few things of note in the month of October Oct. 5th: Cops for Cancer will be visiting our school in the morning. Sr Jazz will be heralding the riders in for a morning presentation. I have put my name in the hat to get my ears lowered in support of this foundation. We, as a school, have tried to promote "a little goes a long way" with small $5.00 and $10.00 donations. If you have the means, please consider donating to our team page... thank you to those who have contributed Cops for Cancer Donation Page Oct. 5th: Spectrum Band Parents Meeting 7pm @ Quality Foods upstairs. All are welcome to come. Oct. 15th: Spectrum Music Bottle Drive 10am-1:30pm. We start at Glanford Bottle Depot with lots of signage. We have laminated routes to conquer and sorting for those who like numbers... we are always happy to receive drivers and this is an opportunity to make some money for your student Band Trip account. Thank you Tarrie for setting this up! Poinsettia Forms have been printed and have gone out to families. We will print out more for Tuesday, October 2nd. Thank you Alison for spearheading this annual fundraiser! November 2nd: Back in Action Concert featuring Spectrums Large Ensembles (Junior and Senior Concert Band) November 5th/6th: 5th Annual Christmas Market... we are FULL. Vendors have now been put on a wait list... this is going to our busiest one yet! Sign up for this fundraiser will go out mid October. Thats all for now!
