WOW! What a week last week. I am SO proud of everyone. Music Monday, the spring concertS and the jazz festival were all VERY successful, well attended, and very musical. Thank you to everyone that contributed in terms of playing, chaperoning, supporting, and listening! The jazz bands earned silvers at West Coast Jazz and a two-year standing invitation to the MusicFest Nationals. A big thank you to everyone that helped out behind the scenes prepping for concerts and trips: my TAs, loading crew, stage crew, and chaperones. You were all amazing!
This week is busy in terms of prepping for the Esquimalt parade and our students will be running a Grade 6 Band Festival out of our own theatre (see below for more information).

5.) Grade 6 Band Festival This Week
We are excited to host the 3rd annual Spectrum Grade 6 Band Festival in our Theatre. We have grade 6 bands from CMS, GMS, St. Joseph’s, Dunsmuir, Rockheights, and Shoreline. I am in need of 20 grade 10-12 volunteers to assist as band guides, warm-up room monitors, storage room monitors, adjudicators assistants, and stage crew. Please sign up in the band room. Period 1 and 2 classes will watch the festival as the band room will be used as a warm-up room.
Enjoy your week! Keep practicing!
Think SUN for the Parade on Saturday. But not TOO much sun. Actually, you know what? Think mildly overcast. With a cool breeze. But not so cool that we play flat… :o)
