Hi All!

I hope this finds you all doing well and that you had a great (extra-long) Spring Break!

*Thank you for a phenomenal Band Tour this year, folks! I am so proud of everyone who came! It was great getting to know you all a little better and see some of you grow musically and non-musically. Your teamwork in performance, on loading crew, and especially on the last day with customs/border and the ferry "race" is unforgettable! Bravo to you all! Our chaperones were first-class and worked exceptionally hard. Thank you Victoria Stewart and Gary Wong! A huge thanks to our outstanding band manager, Jacquie Hawey for all of her work planning and chaperoning this trip. We couldn't have done it without you!

*Bravo, Jr. Jazz Band! Congratulations on an excellent performance at Glanford Middle School's Cabaret Night a few weeks ago! There were so many compliments and comments about your playing. Best one: "THOSE were only Grade 9s and 10s?? I thought they sounded like Grade 12s!!"

*Thank you to everyone that supported our Mother's Day Hanging Basket Fundraiser this year. A big thank you to Mrs. Nancy Wong for organizing and running this year's sales campaign!  Remember that orders will be available for pick-up from our "Touch of New Orleans" Jazz and Dessert Night on April 22nd

The Junior and Senior Jazz Bands will perform throughout the night. Non-jazz band students are required to sign-up for shifts and participate by doing set-up and tear–down and waiting tables/serving.

***Raffle Tickets – Each student will be given one book of 10 raffle tickets to sell ($2 each). EVERY STUDENT IS EXPECTED TO SELL AT LEAST ONE BOOKLET THIS YEAR. Enter to win some wonderful prize packages! All profits from raffle sales will go towards purchasing instruments, sheet music, and much-needed equipment. Please ask your student to bring these home and encourage them to sell their tickets. Every little bit helps! For every book of tickets that is sold and returned, students will be entered to win one of our student prizes (music lessons, gift cards, tech, lots of good stuff!).

***Raffle Ticket Sales at Walmart/Uptown – We will be out in the community selling raffle tickets to shoppers at Walmart/Uptown  on Saturday, April 16th. We are looking for students and parents to sell in short one hour shifts. More information and sign-up information coming soon.

Hi All,

Sorry for not getting this out to you sooner.

Congratulation to the cast, crew, and orchestra of Mary Poppins! We closed this afternoon after a sold out run. Brilliant performances form all involved. Bravo, all!

Also, a huge congratulations to our Grade 12 euphonium player, JASON GORDON! Jason has been accepted to the Denis Wick Canadian Wind Orchestra! This national-level band is the premier honour concert band in Canada. The musical ensemble is comprised of 60+ members from across Canada who, after successful application, converge for a week of music education, history and celebration. During their week together, these students develop their musical talent, technique and skill while being immersed in peer workshops and master classes with clinicians from across North America. Members are selected from auditions submitted from across Canada; most have performed with provincial honour bands from coast-to-coast. Bravo, Jason! :)
