Have a great week! Hi everyone,
It is FESTIVAL WEEK! Yahoo! This Friday, April 12th... students of Spectrums Junior Concert Band, Senior Concert Band and Senior Jazz Band will assemble at Oak Bay High School to take part in the 2nd Annual Victoria Music Festival and share our hard work. Ensembles have been fine tuning their repertoire and I am SO proud of their hard work. Groups sound fantastic! There have been two additions to our performance schedule... both opportunities, we as a music program, could not pass up. It is a tremendous compliment to our group when the community requests us to perform. As a result, you will notice the additions in purple "On the Horizon". 1) Peninsula Co-op World Cups Soccer Festival: has requested that we provide music for 12 National Anthems whilst the teams are presented. This is a privilege and an honour to represent our school in such a fashion. Typically, it has been played over a PA with recordings but the group is enamoured with our storied past of community representation. 2) The lead-coordinator of Victorias Breast Cancer Society--Mothers Day Walk: asked if we could start the morning with a marching band... and well... you just don't say no to a good cause. I encourage everyone to participate should they feel the urge. It is a 5km walk and we will be leading all involved, with great music no less! 3 Victoria Music Festival Instructions PLEASE READ Sr. Concert Band: A reminder you are to meet at Oak Bay High, 8am in Full uniform, Friday, April 12th.
