Parker Jolliffe Director of Bands Spectrum Community School 957 Burnside Road West Victoria, BC V8Z 6E9 Tel: 250-479-8271 pjolliffe@sd61.bc.ca www.spectrumband.ca Good Morning everyone!
A fun week at Spectrum! Congrats to the Senior Jazz Band who performed at this years Cops for Cancer Kick Off... with only a few rehearsals under their belt, they put on a great show for our staff and students! Thank you to Elena S, Elena C, Miranda, Christina, Dana, Abby, Jennifer, Tyler, Ethan and Nicholas who volunteered for our 14th Annual Morning with a Pro this Saturday. They were consummate professionals, guiding roughly 70 grade 6 students throughout the day. Well done guys! Our weekly schedule is below... a few announcements for the upcoming days ahead: 1) Uniforms and Parent/Student Volunteers Our uniform fittings take place this week. Grade 11/12 Wednesday, September 26th. Grade 9/10 Thursday, September 27th. Both 6pm to 8pm in the Band room. Bonnie McCallum and her team has graciously volunteered hours and hours to get everything organized for this event and it takes a village to properly outfit 100 students. If you can spare an hour or two in either nights, we would be forever grateful. Jobs include: Registration desk, chalking, fitting, organizing... every helping hand helps. Please contact Bonnie at: bonnmccl@yahoo.ca if you can help out. Thank you! 2) Bottle Drive #1 Our first Spectrum Band Bottle Drive is quickly approaching: Saturday, September 29th at the Glanford Bottle Depot. I know there are a few families who won't be able to pick up until later so we have arranged for a portion of the school to be open. 4) 1st Annual Spectrum Band Craft Market We are still accepting applications from vendors and crafters for our first annual Craft Market.
