Hi everyone!
First off, a big congratulations to our students. For many, this was their first concert with Spectrum Band and I am very proud of your performance. Lots of lessons learned and a great experience for everyone! THANK YOU families, friends and Spectrum Band alumni for coming out and supporting our annual fall concert. It was nice to see the bleachers full and plenty of new and familiar faces. If you missed out on the night, I encourage you to come to our Winter Concert as it will be another fantastic evening. With the donations collected, we raised $572.32 dollars. Thank you thank you thank you! We will be purchasing some much needed equipment upgrades which will benefit the program immediately! Here is whats happening this week, schedule below 1) Spectrum Band Inaugural Christmas Market This has been a huge undertaking and I thank Tracey Gudgeon for spearheading this initiative and Cheryl Bowes for taking up a lot of the extra planning. This has the potential to be a MAJOR fundraiser for the Band AND our students. We are looking for as many baked goods to be donated AS WELL as some parent volunteers for concession, rovers and general help. Your shifts can be 3 hours long or all day. A parent volunteering will have their hours applied to their band student. It takes a village and we would be very grateful in your support by firing up the oven and getting some cookies out :) or spending some time in the gym with us. A small army of students have already applied. https://goo.gl/forms/ONgsDMoWv2hdsmXJ3 2) 37th Annual Island Farms Santa's Light Parade (Say that 5 times fast) A reminder to new families, The Spectrum Community School Marching Band will be participating in its 14th annual Christmas Light Parade... and we are the only Marching Band in it... so imagine the love you get from the stands :)!
