HI everyone! It is parade week and I couldn't be more excited! It was one year ago this week, where I had my first shot at leading Victoria's #1 Marching Band through the inner harbour and past 65,000+ people! We have been working hard... learning to move as one and play as one this past week and the band is going to be great! I look forward to seeing the 9's rise to the opportunity and our returning students revel in the support and love from our community. Kudos to ALL of our returning students as they have shown great leadership, mentorship and support to our newest members. This is Canada's largest winter parade and we are very proud to be continuing our long tradition of serving our community with music. The schedule this week reflects the extra rehearsals needed to prepare for our 1st parade of the season. Please read carefully so you do not come to the wrong rehearsal. 1.) HI everyone,
My thanks and congratulations to the Senior Concert Band who performed in 5 concerts this Friday for Remembrance day. I was especially proud of your poise, professionalism, musicality and setting the tone for our observances. Bravo! A sincere apology for sending out an email which I later realized sent from a different browser that does not have the bcc distribution list. Your privacy is important and I will make sure this is the last time. The next few weeks will be geared towards preparing for the upcoming parade. We march outside unless there is torrential rain so please dress accordingly. Especially Jackets and Footwear. I would hate to have you slogging around all day in wet shoes so be aware of our climate! Here is our week (NEW SCHEDULE DOWN BELOW)! 1) 37th Annual Island Farms Santa's Light Parade (Say that 5 times fast) A reminder to new families, The Spectrum Community School Marching Band will be participating in its 14th annual Christmas Light Parade... and we are the only Marching Band in it... so imagine the love you get from the stands :)!
