Band This Week: Dec. 12-16, 4 Carol Band Gigs, Sr. Jazz Gig, Band Parents Meeting

12/11/2016

Hello!

Thank you for a wonderful concert on Thursday night and thanks for taking some incredibly positive risks in terms of the repertoire that you performed. For me the only things that shines brighter than Thursday’s performance is the learning and growth that ALL students showed over the last month in rehearsals. One month. It’s incredible what you did! Bravo! Your work ethic, attitude, and musicianship inspire me as a a teacher and musician. I’m so proud of you all! Thank you to the alumni that returned to perform. It was a pleasure to reconnect with you during our rehearsals. Finally, thank you to all of the friends, family, school staff, and community members that came to support and brought hamper items and cash donations. These will go to Spectrum families in need at the end of this week. Thank you for your generosity!

A HUGE thanks to the crew of students that helped move instruments and equipment into the portable so that the band room can be painted next week!

Tuba Christmas 2016 had 75 tubas/euphoniums performing in Market Square on Saturday. Thanks to the students, parents, and alumni that braved the weather to come out and play or to come and watch!

Thank you to the CCC Youth Group for supporting Spectrum and having us perform! Many thanks to Nadine Gordon, Ryan Stewart, and Ashveen Singh for helping to transport chairs, stands, and gear to and from the gig. Best. Roadies. EVER!
