Hi Everyone,
Sorry for not emailing you sooner about what’s happening this week… Just had to make sure that I had to green light to run concerts etc. with the teacher job action that is happening. Good to go! :) Here’s what we have for the remainder of the week. 1.) Morning Band Thursday – JR. JAZZ BAND (NOT Marching Band as I had originally planned). Jr. Jazz needs one final rehearsal to prep for New Orleans Night on Friday. :) Friday – JR. CONCERT BAND REHEARSAL FOR STUDENTS GOING TO NATIONALS. If your student is NOT going on the MusicFest trip they do not need to attend. 2.) Lunch Band Thursday – SR. JAZZ BAND Friday – COMBO REHEARSAL 3.) New Orleans Night Please read the running order for more information about this event. We hope to see you there! Admission is $10 at the door for students and adults. Price of admission includes your choice of delectable desserts from our Culinary Arts program (Crème Brûlée, Key Lime tart with crème fresh and blackberries, Dark chocolate Frangelico cheesecake PLUS Level Ground Coffee and Silk Road Tea) as well as music from our junior and senior jazz bands and our newly formed jazz combo. The evening begins at 7:00pm in the Old Gym for audience members. Grand prizes will be announced at the end of the night. Students who are not in jazz band have now been organized into shifts. Please read the running order for call times for these shifts. The uniform for students working the “service shifts” is black bottoms (pants, dress, skirt and shoes) and white top. Thank you for taking part in this – this fundraiser helps to purchase much-needed sheet music, chairs, music stands, instruments, uniforms, and equipment not covered by the school district! Please encourage friends to come to this event. I’m very proud of my students and the hard work that they have put into preparing for this. :) 4.) New Orleans Raffle Tickets Tickets are now overdue. There are a number of students who have not returned tickets yet. Please return ALL sold and unsold tickets first thing tomorrow! 5.) Hanging Basket Pick-Up Hanging basket orders will be ready for pick-up at the New Orleans evening. Congratulations, again, to Ethan Sawyer (Grade 10) who sold $800 worth of hanging baskets this year! Thanks for your support! Hope to see you on Friday night! Cheers, Jamie Davis Band Parents,
