Good evening everyone!
Thank you for attending our first winter performance of the season. A full theatre is always a great reflection of the support happening at home. Each ensemble did a fine job in presenting some challenging music we have been working on!
With two weeks remaining in school, and (several more performances for members in the fine arts department), our weekly schedule takes a detour. Please read all instructions and scheduling changes carefully as your presence is extremely important.
1. 5th Field and Senior Concert Band Concert
We are excited to be joined by the Band of the 5th Field Regimental Canadian Artillery. This dynamic ensemble promises to deliver an energy filled set of great music! We are honoured to be working with them this season. Admission is by food hamper donation and I kindly encourage you to get there early. Doors open at 7pm- Seating first come, first served. Its going to be a fabulous concert!
Captain Dan Moses has requested a final soundcheck and rehearsal with the combined bands. Please be in Concert Dress, sitting down and warming up in the theatre 6:15 Sharp. A sign up list will be circulated for students wanting to stay at school, as food will be provided for them.

4. Spectrum Fine Arts Showcase(s)
The Spectrum Fine Arts Department is pleased to offer a three night showcase extravaganza including numbers from: Spectrum Dance, Visual and Video Arts, Drama, Junior Musical and Mainstage Musical Theatre. The Music Department provides 1 ensemble per evening. Show starts at 7pm with tickets reservable by calling the office. Call now as shows always sell out!

5. Tuba Xmas This Saturday!
A holiday favourite is right around the corner: Tuba Xmas!!! If you are new to Victoria or have simply never been... join us on Saturday, December 14th at 1pm in Market Square downtown... here you will lay witness to over 65 tuba and euphonium players Caroling! It is a sight to see and has been a favourite of mine. Spectrum students who play trumpet, euphonium, trombone or tuba are invited to speak with me this week. The more, the merrier!
6. UJAM Count Basie Christmas
A benefit concert for the U-JAM Repertory Jazz Orchestra with special guest vocalist Joe Coughlin and students from the Canadian College of Performing Arts. The Big Band features local jazz educators and professional musicians, recreating authentic arrangements from the Basie Band.
Admission is by donation (suggested $15) with all proceeds going to U-JAM and the Young All Star Program.
