Congratulations Spectrum Marching Band - You won FIRST PLACE Canadian Marching Band at the 118th Island Farms Victoria Day Parade! Bravo to all band members and thanks for your hard work in rehearsals all last week! Hard work pays off, my friends!
Thank you to the parents that helped in the marshalling area with hair and uniforms. A big thank you to our "waterboy" - band parents association president, Bob McIlveen!
Also... Thank you to the Senior Jazz Band for performing for the visiting Grade 8 students on Thursday afternoon. The Senior Concert Band played extremely well on Thursday evening - congratulations on a fine performance of a tough program!
TOMORROW - TUESDAY:
***EVERYONE NEEDS THEIR INSTRUMENT AT SCHOOL TOMORROW! DRUMMERS PLEASE RETURN STICKS/MALLETS***
Before school: NO Sr. Jazz in the morning. Sleep in. You've earned it.
Period 2: Be ready for Band 11/12 OR an English 11/12 catch-up class - I will confirm with Mr. Parker in the AM.
Period 1: Band 9
Lunch: No Jr. Jazz BUT ALL MARCHING BAND MEMBERS meet in the band room at 12:00 NOON. We will perform our traditional (albeit, late) hallway serenade right after lunch. Many teachers/staff have commented that they were disappointed that this didn't happen last week! Think of this as a "victory lap!"
Period 4: Hallway Serenade (formerly known as "Musical Terrorism"). Then back to classes.
Period 3: As per usual.
Thanks all! Very proud of you and thankful for our supportive band parents, alumni and community.
