Welcome back! I hope your Spring Break was relaxing and fun!
Thank you to Junior Concert Band and Junior Jazz Band members for your performance at the Spring Concert on March 7th! While the audience was lighter, your performance was well received and enjoyed. Well done, everyone. :)
The Band Tour to Disneyland/California was a huge success! Our performances went really well and students were flexible and accommodating during a busy week on the road. There were many highlights while on tour but the biggest one for me was when our hosts told us how impressed they were with our band students' behaviour, work ethic, and manners. Thank you to the 45 students that participated – I hope you enjoyed yourselves! Pictures will be coming soon (please bring your photos in on a data stick so we can upload them to the website, and check the display case outside of the band room) A huge thanks to Carol Davis, Sue Pyke, and Steve Davis our band managers and chaperones as this tour would not have been possible without them (hours of work went into planning and supervising for this tour). Thank you so much!!!
April, May and June become really busy! Don't forget to keep our revised 'Dates to Note' in mind. Marching Band will be starting right after Easter! Students should be memorizing our two pieces (You Can Call Me Al, Salute to the Colours).

3.) Hermann's Jazz Night – Wednesday, March 27th – 7:00pm (753 View Street)
Our jazz bands will be performing at Hermann's Jazz Club on Wednesday. Students will need to be at Hermann's no later than 6:00pm in full uniform. Admission is free! Come and check this performance out. Hermann's is a restaurant and is open to all ages. I recommend reservations if you are planning on dinner – last year it was PACKED! Call Hermann's for more information: 250-388-9166.
4.) Term 3 Finish
The third term for Band ends on April 5th. Students are reminded that playing requirements and practice cards for junior classes need to be submitted by April 5th at 5:00pm. I will be available every day after school for the next two weeks if you need help completing these!
5.) Mothers Day Hanging Basket Orders Due on THURSDAY
Mothers Day Basket orders are due on Thursday by 3:00pm. 100% of profits from this fundraiser go directly to student accounts.
