Thanks to everyone that came out to the Band Parents Association meeting on Wednesday night. Your support is truly appreciated! We had a good turn out at the Bottle Drive on Saturday as well. Congratulations to all of those who came out – just over $1200 in profits!
1.) Upcoming Performances: UVic Orchestra Combined Concert / Grey Cup Parade
Tuesday, November 25th - Combined Concert for Sr. Concert Band and UVic Symphony Orchestra (7:00pm in the Old Gym, FREE Admission for all) - We hope to have a good turn out for our combined performance with the UVic Symphony on Tuesday night. Bonus marks will be given to Grade 9 and 10 students that attend this performance! UVic will be performing some standard orchestral repertoire and are very excited to be collaborating with us. Don’t miss it!
3:15pm – Setup in Old Gymnasium (Loading Crew needed!)
6:15pm – Call Time for all Sr. Concert Band students (Come to the Theatre in full uniform)
6:30pm – Group Warm/Up and Tuning
6:50pm – Move To Gym (Professional Entrance)
7:00pm – Concert Starts (Sr. Band plays: Lexington, Schindler’s List, Quest of The Undaunted Knight. UVic performs after us.)
**Finish at Approx 8:30pm - Everyone helps with tear down at the end.**
Saturday, November 29th – CFL Grey Cup Parade – Please make sure that you attend ALL of the rehearsals for Grey Cup this week. Absences hinder and affect all of the other students in the marching band. See below for the timeline on Saturday. Don’t forget to pack a LUNCH and SNACKS or bring money for food. You may want to bring a change of clothes to change on the ferry afterwards (uniforms MUST be hung up/stored neatly, however).
5:15am –Call time for all students. Wear your marching band uniform (Blazer, Orange Tie, Black pants/socks/shoes.
PLEASE dress warm (layer underneath your uniform: long underwear, Under Armour, etc. It will be cold!)
5:45am – Busses depart for BC Ferries
7:00am – Ferry crossing to Vancouver
10:00am – Parade Starts!
3:00pm – Ferry crossing back to Victoria.
5:00pm (approx) - Arrive back at Spectrum.
Girls hair is required to be French braided for the parade, if you can French braid please braid your daughters hair in 2 braids prior to drop off Saturday morning.

Monday – Band 9 in Period 1
Tuesday – Band 10 in Period 1 (Some of you will have Musical Theatre though), Band 11/12 in Period 2.
Wednesday - Band 9 in Period 1
Thursday - Band 10 in Period 1, Band 11/12 in Period 2.
Friday – Band 9 in Period 1
*Band 9/10 Practice Cards – Submit Week 8 for marking. Start week 9. :)
3.) Morning/Lunch/After School Rehearsals
Monday – Sr. Concert Band at 7:30am, Jr. Jazz Band at Lunch, Pit Orchestra at 3:15pm
Tuesday – MARCHING BAND at 7:30am, Jr. Jazz Band at Lunch, Concert Set-up after school.
Wednesday – NO MORNING REHEARSAL, Sr. Jazz Band at Lunch, Pit Orchestra at 3:15pm
Thursday – MARCHING BAND at 7:30am, Sr. Jazz Band at Lunch, Pit Orchestra at 3:15pm
Friday – MARCHING BAND at 7:30am, Extra help available at lunch and after school!
4.) Poinsettia Orders
Poinsettia's will be ready for pick-up from the Band Room, Thursday, Nov 27th from 6-7:30 pm. The school has NO storage & students are responsible for delivery of all poinsettia's sold!
