I am SO proud of our students who took part in the 2nd Annual Colquitz/Spectrum Sleepover. They were such fantastic leaders, motivators and delegates of our band program and school. No fire alarms this year and we didn't run out of food :) Lots of fun and a VERY SUCCESSFUL event. Thanks you!
For those who are new to Spectrum, this is Exam week and as per tradition, we exercise "Quiet Week" whereby rehearsals are changed or postponed to support our students efforts to complete their final exams for semester one. Please read all of the information below carefully.

1.) End of Term 2 Semester 1/ Requirements Due
Friday, January 25th marks the end of Term 2 for Band. This means 3 things…
a.) “Requirements” (musical assignments, method book studies, scales, etc) for Band 9-10 are due on Friday by 5:00pm.They may be performed in class, in my office privately, uploaded to the band website from your PC or MAC (visit: http://spectrumbandvictoria.weebly.com/requirements--online-submission.html ), or emailed from your phone to email@example.com OR firstname.lastname@example.org. If you earn a less than desirable mark you can "re-test" as many times as you would like until you get a better mark.
b.) Practices cards for Grade 9 and 10 band students are due on Friday by 12pm. Please make sure that your parents have signed your practice card weeks. Also, please make sure you put the total number of minutes that you practiced in the “Total” column.
2) Band 9/10 Semester Switcheroo
It is typical for the grades 9 and 10 to switch their Band/PE days in the beginning of Semester 2. So beginning Tuesday, January 29th, Band 10 will now convene Period A on Mondays and Wednesdays. Conversely, Band 9 will now convene Period A on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The every other Friday remains the same.
3) Edmonton Final Tour Payment DUE.
The remaining balance of 695.00 is DUE this Friday, January 25th. Please submit your cheque(s) or Cash to Mr. Jolliffe as soon as possible. I have been guaranteed that all outstanding cheques and cash will be deposited this Friday afternoon.
4) Spectrum Band Bottle Drive #3, February 4th
I am unable to take the lead on this bottle drive as our family has surprised us with a weekend getaway (having not checked our website ) and so I am asking* for some help. I will maintain the communication and reminders as I have in the past to those of you who have signed up. The duties include: Arriving to the Bottle Depot at 9:30am. Greet all students and drivers, maintain the sign-in sheet and provide maps to all our drivers from the binders. Hot chocolate and coffee around 11 and help where I can. If you are interested in helping out, I would be forever grateful. Our bottle drives have been very successful, positive and profitable and I would hate to take away the momentum.
