Spectrums Large Ensembles
Junior Concert Band - This ensemble is made up of Grade 9 and 10 students (and grade 11/12 students learning secondary instruments). This ensemble further develops practical music skills and introduces students to high school music performance practices. This ensemble participates annually in the Vancouver Island Concert Band Festival, regularly achieving Superior Ratings and invitations to Musicfest Nationals.
Senior Concert Band - This ensemble is made up of Grade 11 and 12 students (and invited Grade 10s) and has a busy performance schedule - in the community, at school events, at festivals, and at local feeder schools. A major emphasis is placed on traditions, teamwork, performance practices and excellence. Spectrum Senior Concert Band has a rich tradition of receiving high marks in amongst local Festivals, with consecutive invitations to Musicfest Nationals. This ensemble frequently travels internationally, most recently spending 12 days in Spain.
